International Women's and Children's Health Conference 2016
The International Women’s and Children’s Health (IWCH) Conference is a multidisciplinary, student-run conference that brings together students, health professionals, and members of the community to learn more about current global health issues relating to women and children.
The global theme of the 19th annual International Women's and Children's Health Conference is “Falling through the cracks: effects of social barriers on women’s and children’s health”. Our principal objective is to provide students, professionals, and community members with a positive, educational and interdisciplinary environment in which they can interact with, learn from, and inspire one another.
The conference will focus will be on how social inequality and economic disparity impact women’s health. The conference will host keynote speakers, as well as workshops focusing on mental health, cultural practices, infectious disease, abortion, teenage pregnancy, substance abuse, and refugees.
