A fresh and ultimately uplifting musical retelling of Shakespeare’s "Hamlet" from the empowered perspective of a fierce teenaged girl.

About this Event

Presented as part of the 2020 International Women’s Day, "Ophelia Rises" is a fresh and ultimately uplifting retelling of William Shakespeare’s "Hamlet" from the empowered perspective of a fierce teenaged girl. This enhanced story concert for strings and bassoon has as its driving force Canadian solo bassoonist and composer Nadina Mackie Jackson. She is joined on stage by five of our country’s most respected strings players – violinists Rebekah Wolkstein and Drew Jurecka, violist Charlotte Paradis, cellist Rachel Desoer, and double bassist Joe Philips.

Season Sponsor: Jules Chamberlain and Red Door Realty
