A coming together of the generations to hear and learn from each other’s stories for a better tomorrow for all women.

Women Owned Narratives (WON) invite you to a one-day celebration of women and their contributions and discussions around the unique barriers each has faced in their journeys. Through intergenerational storytelling, we can spark engaging conversations for people of all gender identities to listen, learn and contribute. Together, we can sew the fabric of allyship through a positive and supportive platform for growth, sharing valuable lessons and learnings in our pursuit to #EmbraceEquity.

Register your child/children for supervised childcare and children's activities. Click here.

We have a great day planned for you!

Resource Fair - Visit the 20 organizations supporting women, including Calgary Immigrant Women's Association (CIWA), DirectHer Network Momentum, TD, The Cognitive Corner, Calgary Newcomers, Skipping Stone, Stardale Women's Group, YW Calgary and more.

Entertainment and storytelling - The program starts with a performance by the Stardale Indigenous Drummers. Enjoy listening to several storytellers and viewing stories and artwork shared by youth about the women who inspire them.

Panel Discussions - Participate in discussions about women supporting one another to advance and find their voices, gain and maintain financial independence, and hear about the experiences of newcomers to the community. This year's panelists include: Cora Voyageur, Sociologist and Author, University of Calgary's Jenny Burthwright, entrepreneur and owner of Jane Bond BBQ and many more.
