Event description

Description

Intersections | Cross-sections is an annual conference and art exhibition organized by graduate students in the Joint Communication and Culture program at York and Ryerson Universities. Intersections | Cross-sections showcases graduate work from across North America. The aim of the conference is to foster an intellectual exchange between students, artists and senior academics. This year, the theme of the conference is Imagining Identity. The organizing committee believes this theme to be particularly apt considering the 150th anniversary of Canada's confederation and ongoing dialogues concerning race, class, sexuality, religion and justice in North America. The conference welcomes work that reflects the three areas of focus in the Communications and Culture program: media and culture, politics and policy, and technology in practice. This conference is a celebration of interdisciplinary research, inclusivity, and the development of junior scholars.
