The advent of 3D printing is said to signal the beginning of a new industrial revolution. Not only
does 3D printing create excitement among our Young Makers, as they learn to design and think in 3D, new possibilities for learning are revealed and problem solving skills are increased.
In this introductory workshop, Young Makers will learn a little of the history behind 3D Printing, the basics of how the printers work, and how to upload a file to Toronto Tool Library's MakerBot 3D Printer. They will be introduced to TinkerCAD - an easy, browser-based 3D design and modeling tool - where Young Makers will work to design their own object* to be printed.
Date: December 3
Time: 4 p.m. – 6 p.m.
Where: East-end location (1803 Danforth Ave.)
*Prints will be available for pick-up one week following the workshop
