In this Intro to Cross Stitch workshop at DVLB in Waterloo, learn the basics of one of the simplest forms of embroidery - counted cross stitching - with two beginner-friendly projects.

Throughout our 2-hour workshop, you will learn about how to prep your hoop and needle, how to start your first stitch, how to wrap up your thread, how to finish your hoop for display, while working through your choice of 1 nature-themed card and 1 fabric cross stitch pattern. You will leave this workshop learning a new skill and taking home two of your own work-in-progress projects to display or gift.

All materials and supplies are provided. This is a hands-on workshop where participants will receive :

• nature-themed greeting card and envelope
• a cross stitch 101 guide
• instructions for their preferred pattern
• a wooden embroidery hoop
• a piece of fabric
• a tapestry needle
• DMC embroidery thread to complete the pattern (with excess thread if you want to add in any customization)

Beginners are welcomed. Experience is not required, so come stitch back and relax at one of my favourite cafes in KW! DVLB coffee and tea will be provided.
