Au cours de cet atelier bilingue d'une demi-journée, apprenez la base du tissage tout en y incorporant divers techniques afin de créer une pièce murale ou un unique pièce d’accessoire. Vous aurez la chance d’explorer le tissage avec différentes couleurs et types de laines. Après cet atelier, vous aurez la base pour continuer vos explorations et développer votre propre style.

During this half day biligual workshop, we will learn the basics of weaving and create a wall hanging or wearable woven accessory! Participants will have the chance to explore different colours and textures, a variety of weaving techniques, and yarns. After this workshop participants will have the skills and knowledge required to continue developing their own weaving practice.

Instructor: Emilie Grace Lavoie

Récemment graduée au programme de maîtrise d’Emily Carr University of Art and Design à Vancouver, Lavoie a obtenu son diplôme d'études collégiales en design de mode en 2011 du Collège LaSalle à Montréal, son baccalauréat en arts visuels en 2016 de l'Université de Moncton. En juillet 2017, Emilie Grace a représenté le Canada- Nouveau-Brunswick aux VIIIes Jeux de la Francophonie à Abidjan, en Côte d'Ivoire, où elle a remporté la médaille d'argent dans la catégorie Sculpture et installation. Lavoie fait partie du projet Images Rémanentes et elle a une exposition solo à venir au Musée du Nouveau-Brunswick (Know your own Artist) et une exposition solo au Sunbury Shores Arts and Nature Centre en octobre 2018.

Born in New Brunswick, Emilie Grace Lavoie recently graduated from the Masters in Fine Art (MFA) program at Emily Carr University of Art and Design in Vancouver. Lavoie obtained her Diploma of Collegial Studies in Fashion Design in 2011 from LaSalle College in Montreal, and her Bachelor in Visual Arts in 2016 from Université de Moncton. In July 2017, Emilie Grace represented Canada-New Brunswick at the VIII Games of La Francophonie in Abidjan, Côte d'Ivoire, where she won the silver medal in the Sculpture and Installation category. Lavoie is part of the Images Rémanentes project and has an upcoming solo exhibition at New Brunswick Museum (Know Your Own Artist) and a solo exhibition at the Sunbury Shores Arts and Nature Centre in October 2018.

Do I need to bring anything the day of?

The materials fee for this workshop is $25.00 payable to the instructor the day of. Participants are encouraged to pack a lunch and water bottle. Please also bring your ticket, printed or presented to us using your mobile device.

Will I have access to the Kings Landing park with the purchase of my ticket?
