Event description

Description

Guest presenter, Tommy Truong, from Trinity Square Video will introduce you to Adobe After Effects which is a digital visual effects, motion graphics, and compositing application developed by Adobe Systems and used in the post-production process of film making and television production.

Tommy Truong obtained his BFA with distinction from OCAD University. He is an emerging new media artist working in Toronto, whose work explores the ideas of technological obsession, screen-based media, and immersion. Using programs like Photoshop, After Effects, and Cinema 4D, he combines traditional and experimental animating techniques to create the illusion of depth and space in his works. Tommy integrates virtual reality (VR) in his works, and was commissioned to create content for Trinity Square Video’s new VR Gallery Mobile App – V/Art Projects. Recognizing the artistic merit of his practice, he was shortlisted for Equitable Bank’s 2016 Emerging Digital Artist Award, and received OCAD University’s Integrated Media Project 31 Scholarship, and Career Launcher Fund. He has also exhibited in multiple group shows, screenings, and festivals at venues such as Trinity Square Video, Xpace Cultural Centre, Artscape, The Royal Cinema, Tranzac, and Tough Guy Mountain’s Brandscape.
