Who should attend:

Team members, managers, project managers, and anyone wishing to understand what Agile means.

Workshop Overview:

Some projects have clear requirements from the beginning of the project, and planning can be initiated from the beginning to the closure of that project. Once the plan is made, everyone involved follows the necessary activities, to see the plan through to fruition to deliver a single end product. This approach is known as Waterfall Project Management approach and is the most commonly used project management approach.

On the other hand, lots of projects do not have clear requirements at the beginning, the client is not sure what they want, and a different iterative and incremental project management approach has to be applied. This approach is called agile project management. In this methodology, repeated increments of products are delivered every week or every month, and the customer and the agile team gets more clarity about the project as they work on priority items, one at a time.

Agile project management focuses on four Values, 12 principles and practices which includes lean, agile- scrum, extreme programming (XP), dynamic system development method (DSDM), crystal, and more methodologies. Agile professionals understand the foundation of all practices and apply them to fit their project needs.

Lean thinking is the foundation of agile methodologies. Lean focuses on the value of respecting your staff and letting them make decisions on product and estimation. Leaders only act as servant leaders and they trust the staff (development team) to make all the decisions related to the actual work. Requirements are always taken from the clients, the client, and the team works together to find a solution, at speed and is done incrementally.
