Event description

Description

In this workshop we'll explore the creative possibilities of colouring fabric by dyeing 100% silk scarves. We'll cover the basics of fabric dyeing, including an overview of dye types and application processes, and dye safety. All materials are provided for this workshop and you'll go home with 1 unique hand-dyed silk scarf (some additional scarves will be available for purchase if you would like to dye more than one).

Instructor Bio:

Debbie Sullivan enjoys working with textiles of all kinds, and has specialized in hand-dyeing yarn through her business Sweet Paprika Designs, where she has also taught a variety of dyeing workshops over the past 5 years. She studied Design for the Theatre at Concordia University, and still enjoys putting her dye skills to use in creating stage costumes on occasion as well.

Cet atelier sera presenté en anglais.

This workshop is suitable for people ages 14 and up. Children under 18 years old must be accompanied by a parent for the duration of the workshop. Only one registration is required for a parent and child, although materials will only be provided for one individual.
