About this Event

Have you heard the buzz about Nordic Pole Walking? Whether you want to learn how to turn an ordinary walk into a full body workout or you are recovering from knee or hip surgery or perhaps you are an athlete wanting to cross train - everyone is welcome!

Shawn Nisbet is a Certified Holistic Nutritionist, Master Nordic Pole Walking Instructor for Canada and Yoga Teacher. She is also a mom of 4 on a mission to share her passion for overall wellness and how we may "Age Gracefully".

Clinic Description:

We spend the first 45 minutes learning how to set our individual pole heights, how to put on the straps properly, the basics of walking and the many health benefits of adding poles to an ordinary walk. The next 45 minutes we learn the 3 Steps of Nordic Pole walking and have a little bit of time at the end of the clinic to practice your new skills. This clinic is more instructional then exercise based therefore everyone will feel comfortable taking this clinic.

This clinic takes place on a private Nature Reserved managed by the Oak Ridges Moraine Land Trust in Schomberg, ON. Please keep in mind that the introductory clinic will consist of mostly sitting and the venue is semi-indoors but not heated, please dress accordingly. An exact address will be released upon registration.

Walking Poles:

Due to COVID-19, Shawn is not currently able to rent out poles for her clinic. You are more than welcome to bring your own poles or, if you would like to purchase a set of poles for $80.00 from Shawn, please indicate this in your registration form and we will contact you with further details.

There are measures in place to keep everyone safe from the spread of COVID-19. Further details will be shared leading up to the clinic date.
