Introduction to R: A Language for Statistical Computing


Learning Objectives

By the end of the workshop, participants should have a good understanding of R syntax and objects (e.g.: matrices, data frames, etc.). They should also be familiar with importing, exporting, and manipulating data; creating and using functions; as well as basic plotting and data analysis.

Participants are not expected to have any previous experience working with R, but should have some experience with basic data manipulation and statistical analysis in some other statistical program, such as SAS, SPSS, SPLUS, or STATA.

Covered topics include: R syntax and objects, as well as data manipulation, plotting, and analysis.
