Event description

Description

What are some of the signs that you may be a Highly Sensitive Person (HSP)?

  • Do you feel more deeply and intensely than others?

  • Do you struggle with crowds, loud nosies or overstimulation?

  • Do people ever tell you that you are too sensitive?

If so you may be one of the approximately 20% of the population who can be described as a ‘Highly Sensitive Person’ or an HSP. Or perhaps you have loved ones who are an HSP and you would like to better understand and support them.

This free community talk will review the traits of a Highly Sensitive Person (based on the research and work of Dr. Elaine Aron). The session will review what the trait is (and what it is often confused with) as well as some of the unique strengths and challenges faced by HSPs. The presenter will share examples from her own journey as a Highly Sensitive Person. Additional areas of discussion will include strategies for honouring and managing your own sensitivity as the gift that is is (rather than it feeling like a curse).
