Event Information
Description
VEX IQ is a robotics system designed for children in elementary school. The system encourages collaboration, problem solving, and leadership for students as young as second grade, expanding to challenge students through eighth grade! VEX IQ features tool-less, snap together parts that allow children to easily start exploring with robotics, but offers endless possibilities of what they can create.
Do you have a child that is interested in robotics and competing on a robotics team? This introductory workshop will allow participants to learn about the VEX IQ robotics system and to get a taste for robotics competition. Participants will get to build a VEX IQ robot and compete in challenges on a competition playing field.
Each year around April, VEX IQ releases a competition game. Teams of students are tasked with designing and building a robot to play against other teams from around the world in a game-based engineering challenge. STEM concepts are put to the test on the playing field as students learn lifelong skills in teamwork, leadership, communications, and more. Tournaments are held year-round at the regional, provincial, and national levels; local champions go on to compete against the best in the world at VEX Worlds!
