About this event
On September 9th from 6-8pm, join us for a discovery ride focused on 3 invasive species in our city: Himalayan Balsam, Garlic Mustard and Japanese Knotweed. They may look sweet and innocent, but expert Robert Scott from the city of Thunder Bay will explain the importance behind restoring the land back to non-invasive plants.
Discovery rides are designed to be a leisurely accessible pace for cyclists aged 10 and older, and are suitable for adults pulling bike trailers so even the littlest ones can ride and discover.
Participants must have a bike in working order, a helmet and closed toed shoes. Dress for the weather, and it's a good idea to bring water and snacks!
As we ride, we'll be led by EcoSuperior's Safe Cycling instructors who will teach and coach us on the rules of the road. There is safety in numbers! Discovery Rides are also a great way to get experience riding in an urban setting and gain confidence doing so.
