Event description

Description

Women worldwide make 77 cents for every dollar earned by men. At the same time, they carry out three times as much unpaid household and care work as men. Income inequality is also on the rise, with the richest 10 percent earning up to 40 percent of total global income. A significant majority of households in developing countries—more than 75 per cent of the population—are living today in societies where income is more unequally distributed than it was in the 1990s. The UN has identified the need for Gender Equality and Reduced Inequalities in their Sustainable Development Goals (SDGS).

Join us on October 24th during Responsible Investiment Week and World Development Information Day for an evening of conversation with Brittany Lambert, Women’s Rights Policy and Advocacy Specialist for Oxfam Canada. She will talk about how investors and citizens can step up to reduce gender inequality and make the world a better place.
