Event description

Description

The world economy is increasingly digital and the world’s great powers likely are increasingly viewing their economic competitive advantage in terms of digital governance. Competing and often incompatible systems of digital governance are emerging among leading global powers like the United States, China, and the European Union. As new economic blocks begin to emerge and catalyse into new systems of legislation and policy, Canada will need to discover its fit in the new economic and political order. Beyond that, Canada will need to be proactive and explore the areas in which it can establish a leadership position.

The event will take place at the Institute on Governance's ASPIRE Lab at 60 George Street in the Byward Market. The reception will begin at 5:30. The panel begins at 6:00 and will end promptly at 7:00. A networking event among attendees and speakers will follow. This instalment of the Policy Crunch series is proudly brought to you by the team behind the IOG's research and advisory services related to innovation policy and the governance of digital technologies. For more, see Science and Innovation Policy at the IOG.
