Event description

Description

With new technological capacities have come new philosophies of public administration and government. This comes with increased capacities for openness, transparency and information-sharing that have little historical precedence. These technologies also come with new risks for governance and statecraft, including for security, policy-effectiveness and state-society interaction. As governments worldwide seek to unlock the widespread benefits that are expected to come with Open Government, there are many questions about the best course of action and how to govern the newest evolution of government.

The event will take place at the Institute on Governance's ASPIRE Lab at 60 George Street in the Byward Market. The reception will begin at 5:30. The panel begins at 6:00 and will end promptly at 7:00. A networking event among attendees and speakers will follow. This instalment of the Policy Crunch series is proudly brought to you by the team behind the IOG's research and advisory services related to innovation policy and the governance of digital technologies. For more, see Science and Innovation Policy at the IOG.
