Event description

Description

The Office of MPP Daiene Vernile is pleased to invite you to a public discussion, “Islam Demystified – A Community Town Hall.” Light refreshments provided!

Diversity is an important cornerstone of Ontario's culture and heritage. But, recent events in Canada and around the world have put the Muslim faith under growing scrutiny, with perceptions fueling fear and discrimination.

We’ve all heard the conjecture tied to Islamaphobia: ties to terrorism, female oppression, loyalty to “Canadian values.”

Join us as we tackle all of these assumptions, and more. Kitchener Centre MPP Daiene Vernile and Rania Lawendy, University of Waterloo Muslim Chaplain, invite you to a candid community discussion.
