Event description

Description

Every October, cities across Canada commemorate Islamic History Month. This provides an opportunity to reflect on, and celebrate, contributions of Muslim-Canadians to the communities they live in.

This Islamic History Month join us at a free event that will include art exhibitions, exhibitions of Canadian-Muslim history, poetry, music, food, workshops and more at the Vancouver Public Library on 27 October 2018.

We'd love to include you in this afternoon that celebrates who we are and remembers where we came from. If you're a Muslim artist, performer, exhibitor or workshop host please reach out to us and we'll find a way to include you in the event and showcase your talents. Email aslam_bulbulia_2@sfu.ca with a brief description of your idea for involvement by 21 Sept 2018.

The City of Vancouver's Cultural Communities Advisory Committee, along with SFU's Centre for Comparative Muslim Studies, is supporting this community-driven initiative to celebrate the richness and diversity of Vancouver's Muslim community.
