Event description

Description

A free public Presentation by the BC Psychological Association.

Chronic pain affects about 1 in 5 Canadians. Depression affects about 1 in 10 at some point in their lifetime. There’s a huge overlap between the two conditions. People with chronic pain often feel depressed, scared or frustrated, but they think no one cares or that they’re being a burden, so they don’t talk about it. Families and loved ones of people with chronic pain care, but often don’t know what to say. Not talking about pain doesn’t make it go away, it makes it feel worse. It helps to talk about chronic pain. Let’s talk about it.
Registered Psychologist Dr. James Mok (CPBC #1327) has focused on helping and teaching people with a variety of chronic pain conditions for the past 20 years. He’s been a member of interdisciplinary pain management teams in both private and public settings.

Seating is first-come, first-serve so we encourage you to arrive early to secure your spot!
