About the Instructors:

Ashley Johnson is a dancer, dance educator and Mitzvah Technique/Itcush Method teacher based out of Regina. She studied dance and kinesiology at Grant MacEwan College, (Edmonton) University of Calgary, and University of Hong Kong. She currently maintains an active private practice in the Mitzvah Technique/Itcush Method and regularly travels to lead workshops and private sessions. Ashley is passionate about working with diverse populations and spent seven years working as a teaching artist in public schools looking at the intersections of dance, health and body function.

Kana Nemoto is a Mitzvah Technique/Itcush Method teacher based out of Winnipeg. She was introduced to these practices in 1996 by Amelia Itcush (1945-2011). Kana trained as a classical ballet dancer at Kobe Ballet Studio (Kobe, Japan) and Tottori City Ballet (Tottori, Japan). She moved to Canada in 2009 to pursue a teacher training program in Saskatchewan and supplemented her body work training with a M.Sc. study in Kinesiology at the University of Saskatchewan. She continues to study the moving body through participation in dance classes and performances throughout Winnipeg.

Together, Ashley and Kana facilitate group workshops that focus on shifting physical patterns to improve co-ordination and relieve chronic pain.
