It's Great to Bee Home: Bee Habits, Habitats, and Bee Hotel Workshop
Sat, 22 April 2017, 12:00 PM – 2:00 PM EDT
Building a Bee Hotel
The plight of honey bees has been in the news a lot recently, but some of the most important pollinators are native bees who specialize in pollinating flowers that are native to the regional ecologies of Canada. Native bees also have to deal with the loss of habitat brought about by urbanization.
Bee hotels are a fun way of giving back to native bee species. They provide bees with much needed nesting sites that can also help your neighbourhoods grow!
Come out to the Lakeshore Grounds Interpretive Centre on April 22nd from 12 PM to 2 PM to hear a talk about the relationship between native and honey bees and to take part in a bee hotel making workshop.
Supplies will be provided.
This event is free, but space is limited, so please do register early.
