Conference description

Population dynamics and integrated management of forest insects

International Union of Forest Research Organisations (IUFRO) – Meeting of working groups

7.03.06 – Integrated management of forest defoliating insects

7.03.07 – Population dynamics of forest insects

Forest entomologists and insect ecologists from across the world are meeting in Quebec City, Canada to discuss latest research findings and ideas on forest insect ecology and management. Insect disturbances, combined with human interactions and interventions, are creating uncertainties about the future of forests worldwide. These disturbances, often mediated by climate change can amplify feedbacks to the global climate system. We will have three days of conference meetings and on the fourth day, we will travel to visit spruce budworm outbreak sites. We will also discover historic aspects of Quebec City and enjoy its cultural and culinary delights.
