March 5, 2020 4:00pm - 9:00pm
For our 8th year, the IWD Guelph-Wellington (IWDGW) partners are excited to honour women from all ages and stages at our annual celebration of International Women’s Day.
The 2020 IWD Guelph-Wellington event features dinner, a marketplace of women entrepreneurs and guest speaker Pamela Barnum, a trust strategist and body language expert, presenting her keynote, “Trust Starts With You.”
As has been our practice in previous years, proceeds from this event go toward supporting women in Guelph-Wellington. The theme of this year’s event is “Keeping our Sisters Safe” and we are pleased to announce proceeds will be directed to the YMCA-YWCA of Guelph’s Safe Sisters program.

Our Speaker
Pamela Barnum has spoken in front of audiences ranging from 50 to 12,000 in the United States, Canada, and Australia. Her recent TEDx Talk, “What Drug Dealers Taught Me About Trust” was viewed more than 200,000 times in the first six months.
Using real-world strategies she gained working as an undercover police officer and federal prosecuting attorney, Pamela helps audiences crack the code on deception and increase trust using proven nonverbal techniques. Pamela shares her experience, research, and expertise with humour, energy, and candor; blending real-world strategies with memorable stories that will impact the way you and your teams communicate for the better.
Keynote: “Trust Starts With You”
Nonverbal communication skills are critical to your success. Unfortunately, most people have conditioned themselves to ignore their instincts. As a result, they’re more easily misled and cheated. Pamela teaches strategies that can be used immediately to boost confidence and foster inner-trust.
Proceeds - supporting women of all ages & stages
Proceeds from this year's event will be directed to the YMCA-YWCA of Guelph’s Safe Sisters program, a weekly drop-in program for girls in grades seven and eight in Guelph designed to provide a safe space for young girls to learn about and discuss personal safety and positive well-being in terms of their community, their own bodies and social media.
