The International Wine and Food Society was founded in London, England in 1933 by Andre Simon ... a bold idea given the worldwide circumstances at the time. Now there are some 6000 members across most continents.

Fifteen years ago on January 27th our Oakville chapter celebrated its inaugural event and since then has enjoyed many occasions with wine, food and friends.

Though we are still unable to gather together at this time, we still want to celebrate our chapter and our membership by offering an exciting virtual dinner prepared especially for us by Trattoria Timone and we hope you enjoy the evening.

STARTER: Bruschetta (Vegetarian)

APPETIZER (choose 1):

• House Salad (Vegetarian, Vegan, GF) Baby greens, orange segments, spicy roasted pecans and house vinaigrette
• Caesar Salad Romaine hearts, croutons, bacon, parmesan and creamy garlic dressing
• Minestrone Soup (Vegetarian, Vegan, GF) Classic Italian Minestrone, with mixed vegetables, in a savory vegetable broth

MAIN COURSE (choose 1):

• Veal Piccata Tender slices of provimi veal sautéed with lemon, capers, white wine parsley sauce, served with daily potato and mixed vegetables
• Gourmet Butternut Squash Ravioli (Vegetarian) Fresh sage butter and shaved parmesan
• Roasted Chicken Breast (GF) With a blueberry port wine jus, daily potato and mixed vegetables
• Grilled Atlantic Salmon (GF) Fresh mango salsa, risotto and mixed vegetables

DESSERT (choose 1):

• Tiramisu Ladyfingers, espresso, amaretto and creamy mascarpone mousse
• Chocolate Mousse Cake (GF) Crispy meringues, crushed hazelnuts, chocolate mousse

WINE RECOMMENDATIONS: The following wines will go with any of the main courses depending on your preference for white or red and contrasting or complimentary pairings:

As usual it is suggested that the members pay by e-transfer or cheque to IWFS Oakville. Registration is open until January 20th, and you can register family and friends to take advantage of this very special event.
