Christmas is just around the corner and we have asked Oliver’s of Oakville to prepare a very special virtual dinner for our membership on Tuesday December 8th for pick up at the restaurant at 6:00pm. Christian will be suggesting the wine pairing but we wanted you to have a sneak preview of this wonderful dinner suggested by Chef Derek von Raesfeld of Oliver’s.
AMUSE: Crisp artichoke with lemon aioli, tomato sofritto & shaved parmesan (vegetarian)Appetizers:
- ZUCCHINI BLOSSOMS ricotta & bufala Mozzarella filled, Puttanesca salsa, basil, celery salad (vegetarian) OR
- WILD SHRIMP CEVICHE Jalapeño, scallion, ginger, lime & vodka, shallot, caviar, crisp quinoa
Mid-course:
- LOBSTER GNOCCHI potato gnocchi, 1⁄2 N.S. lobster, lobster jus, tomato sofritto, fresh basil OR
- CARMELA DI FUNGI ricotta & mushroom filling, egg pasta, porcini ragu, ricotta salata, basil cress (vegetarian)
Main course:
- BRANZINO Cioppino broth, fregola, clams, cherry tomatoes, diced vegetables, basil OR
- ONTARIO PRIME TENDERLOIN, classic beef Bourguignonne braise, roasted mirepoix vegetables, potato & leek potageOR
- SPICED ROASTED ROMANESCO CAULIFLOWER, chimichurri sauce, toasted pine nuts, crisp herbs (Vegetarian)
Dessert: Chocolate panna cotta with amaretti cookie, salted caramel whipped vanilla mascarpone
The price of this brilliant way to start the Holiday Season is $120.00 per person and as usual it is suggested that the members pay by e-transfer or cheque to IWFS Oakville. Registration is open until December 4th and you can register family and friends to take advantage of this very special event and the last one of 2020.
