Jack Gatecliff Seat Sale

The Jack Gatecliff Seat Sale is an opportunity for members of the community to directly purchase a bench seat through the Eventbrite website. Once purchased, bench seats will be removed from the arena, and a pick up time will be assigned on Saturday March 4th, 2023.

1) Pre-Sale, Specific Bench Seat Requests:

This Pre-sale will begin January 23rd at 10am for those who expressed interest in a specific bench seat and pre-registered (ie, bench from Section A, Row B, Seat 5, 6). An access code to unlock that specific inventory will be emailed to those who pre-registered. If the bench seat is not purchased by Monday January 30th at 12pm, it will be released back into the general inventory.

2) Pre-Sale, Non-Specific Bench Seat Requests:

This Pre-sale will begin January 23rd at 10am for those hose who expressed interest in obtaining a bench seat, but did not specify a specific bench(ie, red bench). An access code to unlock general pre-sale inventory will be emailed. Bench seats not purchased by Monday January 30th at 12pm will be released back into the general inventory.

All pre-sales will end Monday January 30th at 12pm.

3) Last Chance Public Bench Seat Sale:

Bench seat sales for the general public and those who did not pre-register, will begin on Monday February 13th at 10am and will end at 12pm on Friday February 17th.

All Sales close completely at 12pm on Friday February 17th.

All seats must be picked up at Jack Gatecliff on Saturday March 4th at the time you indicate in your order.

Please ensure your vehicle is large enough to accommodate your purchase.

Seat Dimensions and Weights

Each bench (usually two seat numbers, as in seat 10,11) is:

37" wide

28.5" tall

9.5" deep

Each bench weighs approximately 30 pounds.

Seat Prices

$150 per bench +HST+Eventbrite Fees ($182.02) (usually two numbers, as in seat 10, 11--with the odd exception of it being a single seat)

Row J (top row) are typically Floor Mounted Seats as shown in the first photo of the red seats below. Floor mounted seats have 4 legs however, these legs do not have flat or sturdy bases.

Rows A through H are typically Wall Mounted Seats as shown in the second photo of the green seats below. Wall mounted seats do not have any legs at all.

Refund Policy

The City will make every effort to secure the seat requested. In the event the requested seat is not available, an exchange will be made for the same type of seat (wall mounted/floor mounted) and colour. If the exchanged seat is not acceptable, a refund will be issued via Eventbrite.

No Shows/Unclaimed Seats

Benches that remain unclaimed after the pick up date and time will be discarded. A refund will be issued, minus a $55 administrative fee.

DISCLAIMER RE: Jack Gatecliff Arena - Decommissioned Spectator Seats Safety

The seats contain lead-based paint. Lead from paint, paint chips, and dust can pose health hazards if not taken care of properly. Lead exposure is especially harmful to young children and pregnant women. In particular, exposure to lead can cause serious harm and damage to the brain and central nervous system. In some cases, it may even cause death. By agreeing to purchase the seat, you acknowledge and understand the serious risks associated with exposure to lead-based paint. You agree to hold the Corporation of the City of St. Catharines (City) harmless from any and all costs, expenses, claims, causes of action, judgements or actions arising out of or related to any damage to any person or property in connection with the lead-based paint on the seat.

Fitness for Use

There is no opportunity to inspect the seat prior to purchase. The seat is bought on an as-is basis. In no way, express or implied, does the City guarantee, warrant, or represent that the seat meets any standard of quality or merchantability or is fit for use in any particular way or for any particular purpose.
