Description

If you have ever wanted to study Japanese Flower arranging, this beginner's session will give you an introduction to this 600 year old art of Ikebana and will follow the curriculum of the Ohara School Tokyo. Students will be eligible to continue on with their studies and their experience will count towards their progress in obtaining certificates from the Ohara School

Derek Ju-Sen Kitchen holds the rank of Second Master with the Ohara School of Ikebana, Tokyo. He will be leading an introductory series of 4 classes on Monday nights beginning February 25. Each week you will work with live floral materials and will have arrangements to take home.

Students should bring a pair of shears, a towel, a small bucket or pail and a bag to protect flowers from the cold on the way home. Notes will be provided and other equipment can be borrowed.


Cost for 4 lessons is $120 + gst. Weekly materials average about $10 extra per week and are charged at cost.
