Overview

Please join us for a fun-filled and inspiring weekend exploring and photographing the fall colors of some of Jasper National Park’s most iconic places. During the workshop we will work closely with you as you explore your creative side and advance your photography techniques to create impactful and inspiring images in this amazing place. Participants will have the opportunity to fully immerse themselves in their photography adventure and experience the amazing landscapes and wildlife.

The amazing Overlander Mountain Lodge will be our home for the weekend. The Lodge is nestled at the edge of Jasper National Park, overlooking the majestic Rocky Mountains. This jewel in the Canadian Rockies offers spectacular views, gourmet meals at the award-winning Stone Peak Restaurant and ultra-comfortable lodging. Warm hospitality and a casual, yet cozy atmosphere are combined in a mountain setting of unique, natural beauty.

All transportation during the workshop will be provided on a comfortable 24-28 person tour bus. Once you arrive at the Lodge, you will not be required to drive again.

Jasper National Park

Located along the Rocky Mountains in west central Alberta, Jasper National Park is a breathtaking place which astonishes guests with its majestic and rugged peaks dotted with canyons, glaciers, glacier fed rivers and lakes, abundant wildlife and pristine wilderness. The quiet, easy-going mountain park provides a perfect place to seemingly endless outdoor adventures and world-class photography. What to Expect
Our workshop is suitable for people of all levels of photography experience and will feature many aspects of outdoor photography including informative in-field discussion about equipment, composition and field techniques. We will take the time to help all participants based on their photography experience and goals. The emphasis of the workshop will be landscape and outdoor photography; however, participants are free to ask questions about and practice portrait photography as well.

All the shooting locations are easily accessible from the road; however, we may walk short distances (< 500 m) to position ourselves for the best compositions.

Environmental and Safety Considerations

We are fortunate to have the privilege and permission to photograph some of the most awe-inspiring locations in the world during this workshop. Lee and Trent feel showing courtesy to fellow outdoor enthusiasts is of the utmost importance to allow us to have future workshops. We ask all our participants to:

  • Share the trail. Treat other users with courtesy and respect.
  • Leave what you find. Natural and cultural resources such as rocks, fossils, artifacts, horns, antlers, wildflowers and nests are protected by law and must be left undisturbed for others to discover and enjoy.
  • Take out what you bring in. Pack out all garbage, including food waste.
  • During the workshop we will be close to washroom facilities and encourage participants to use these as much as possible.
  • To prevent damage to vegetation stay on the trail and avoid shortcuts.

Cancellation Policy

Spots are non-refundable but are transferrable (i.e. if the participant is able to find someone else to take their spot and can sell/transfer the spot to a new participant, this is acceptable). We cannot offer refunds or credits.

Although extremely unlikely, Lens on Nature and Lee Nordbye Photography reserve the right to cancel the workshop at any time for a variety of reasons (i.e. if a minimum number of participants is not met or if unforeseen circumstances dramatically impact the cost of the tour). In the very unlikely event of a cancellation, all monies/deposits made will be refunded to participants, however, no compensation would be made for participant flight cancellation fees.
