Jen Farr and John Rowntree are the co-founders of Gambler Productions. In the TAPS program at UTSC, they performed together in plays such as Eugene Ionesco's Rhinoceros and Arthur Miller's The Crucible. They were also members of the extracurricular Drama Society, active in various administrative, directorial and performance roles. As solo theatre artists, they first performed in The Story So Far (2015), based on their "Me Projects" from Paula Sperdakos' solo performance class. Gambler’s inaugural First Show Spectacular (2016) and its follow-up Lost and Found (2017) expanded the company's solo efforts. Their most recent production, You, Me, We, Us, was an experimental blend of solo performance and more conventional theatre.
