Featuring: Dr. Onil Bhattacharyya on "Redesigning Primary Care in the 21st Century: Making Care More Personal for our Population"

Admission is free but seating is limited. Light refreshments will be served. 


The Jim Ruderman Lecture on Leadership and Innovation will be held annually in honour of Dr. Ruderman (1950-2015), a much-loved and respected leader who served as Chief of Staff (2006-2013) and Family Physician in Chief (1992-2014) during his career at Women’s College Hospital. Additionally, Dr. Ruderman was a valued faculty member (1981-2015) with the Department of Family and Community Medicine at the University of Toronto. Dr. Ruderman is remembered for mentoring generations of physicians in their early careers and inspiring many to champion change across the health care system.

Dr.Onil Bhattacharyya is the Frigon Blau Chair in Family Medicine Research at Women’s College Hospital. He is a practicing clinician and an Associate Professor in the Department of Family and Community Medicine and the Institute of Health Policy, Management and Evaluation at the University of Toronto. He has been a Harkness Fellow in Health Care Policy at the Commonwealth Fund in New York City and a Takemi Fellow at the Harvard School of Public Health. His research focuses on the application of methods from the software and startup sector to health service design.
Dr. Bhattacharyya received his medical degree from the University of Montreal, and PhD in health services research from the University of Toronto.
