Watch the top Mount Royal University student ventures compete for their share of cash prizes and in-kind services during the 9th annual JMH LaunchPad Pitch Competition!

LaunchPad is our biggest event of the year where students and recent alumni from across campus pitch their venture to a panel of esteemed judges and a supportive audience. Teams are given 5 minutes to pitch, followed by another 5 minutes of Q&A from the judges. The most promising ventures will walk away with their share of cash prizes and in-kind services to take their venture to the next level!

Speaker: Ray DePaul

Ray DePaul is the inaugural Director of the Institute for Innovation and Entrepreneurship at Mount Royal University. The Institute's mission is to graduate the most entrepreneurial minds in Canada. Ray has launched many innovative products in his 30-year career. He has been a successful entrepreneur, selling his previous company to Intel, and was also a key member of the team that brought the iconic BlackBerry to the world. 

Speaker: Aislinn Grant, 2020/2021 LaunchPad Alumni of the Year

Aislinn Grant pitched in the very first JMH LaunchPad Pitch Competition in 2013. Since then, she has launched an outstanding career in brand design and founded a boutique design studio called Grant Design. Along with her work as a jaw-dropping designer, Aislinn is an active member of the Calgary entrepreneurship community, volunteering her time as a mentor, judge and speaker. Aislinn has also been a donor to the JMH LaunchPad Pitch Competition since 2016 and offers in-kind design services to one deserving emerging founder. In addition to her support of the MRU community, Aislinn co-founded a group called Play Big & Jam which brings together a group of women and femmes who want to play bigger in their professional and personal lives. We are proud to honour Aislinn as the 2020/2021 LaunchPad Alumni of the Year.
