ABOUT THE SPEAKERS:

Anitra Paris (Clean Energy BC)

Growing up on BC’s Sunshine Coast fostered Anitra’s deep love of nature. Climbing trees, swimming in the ocean and observing eagles inspired her to later study for a BSc. in Natural Resource Conservation at the University of British Columbia. Since graduating, she has worked in human-wildlife conflict and renewable energy. Climate change is an anthropogenic issue, the solution will always involve altering human behaviour. Most recently, at the Clean Energy Association of BC, she is actively creating digital marketing and social media content that represents BC’s renewable energy projects. Anitra is passionate about storytelling. She is excited about pioneering systems that build community and create a positive narrative, overall enabling people to live a low-impact lifestyle.

Colienne Regout (Movmi)

Colienne grew up in Belgium. Her European background as project manager was focused on the sharing economy and sustainable development. She is used to working closely with a wide variety of companies and public authorities. She especially enjoys challenging the executives as well as the operational forces with a sustainable strategy. She is passionate about innovative and value-driven companies who have a positive impact on society. Today, Colienne is working for Movmi, an end-to-end agency for shared mobility projects in Vancouver and all over the world. As business analyst, she brings new perspectives and tools to Movmi’s expertise. She knows from experience that more sustainable mobility options play a huge role in building more liveable cities.

Laura Sidi (Steer Davies Gleave)

Laura is a transportation engineer and urban planner with over ten years of experience working in North America and internationally. Since 2012, Laura has been working for Steer Davies Gleave in Vancouver with a strong focus on rail technology, including urban-style light rail transit design, transit operations, and complete streets. Working from the perspective that transportation can help shape communities and change lives, Laura puts key focus on passenger experience, community integration and optimization for transit operators.

Tim Barton (City of Vancouver)

Tim is passionate about contributing towards healthy, vibrant and resilient communities and believes transportation has a key role to play in this. Tim has worked on a variety of transportation planning projects including area-wide transportation planning strategies, policy reviews, bike lane designs, streetscape improvements, transportation assessments for major transit-oriented development applications and, more recently, representing the City of Vancouver on various transit policy and planning initiatives. Notable projects include involvement in the City of Abbotsford's Official Community Plan, leading the transportation assessments both for the Oakridge Mall redevelopment in Vancouver and the new Surrey City Hall, and overseeing the transportation planning for the renewal of Granville Island, one of Vancouver's busiest tourist destinations. More recently, Tim has been involved in the City of Vancouver’s Cambie Corridor Plan and working with TransLink on transit priority projects including the new 41st Ave B Line. Tim has over 15 years' experience in both the public and private sectors, in both the UK and Canada. He is currently the Senior Transit Planning Engineer at the City of Vancouver and an Engineering Licensee (Eng.L.) with EGBC.
