Description

The IChemE / CSChE will be hosting an open talk / networking event. We are happy to have Mark Little talking about about building and advancing a career in a challenging environment, including discussing soft skills/competencies engineers need to focus on to advance their careers in good and bad times.

Mark is the Vice-President of Health & Safety at Cenovus. Mark’s career spans more than 20 years in the Canadian and international energy business – with leadership positions in Europe, Africa, the Middle East and North America. Prior to his current role, he spent three years as the Vice-President Business Excellence in Cenovus implementing the Cenovus Operating Management System, and in his last role with Shell Canada, he implemented an Oil Sands Lean manufacturing system. Prior to that, he spent 15 years with Shell International in various international postings in production geology, asset and reservoir management, development planning and cost leadership.

Mark earned a Master’s degree in Earth Sciences from Oxford University and a PhD in Rapid Climate Change. Mark is a passionate and committed member of Scouts Canada – currently in the role of Commissioner for Scouts Canada, responsible for more than 10,000 youth and Scouters.
