Event description

***Since this event sold out, I've added an addition session the following week.***

I’m currently working with Journalists for Human Rights (JHR) on a project to engage and train media practitioners in southern Ontario on tools and techniques to understand and investigating mis/disinformation in the news.

The workshop covers a background on the information environment; what media manipulation looks like today; investigating mis/disinformation and media manipulation, photos and videos, social media accounts, websites; and social media monitoring. The tools and techniques covered can be used on any beat to expose what people want hidden, and to uncover fakes and frauds. The workshop materials have been developed by Craig Silverman.

The workshops typically run 2 hours. They will take place via Zoom. To accommodate multiple work-from-home schedules, I'm offering two different sessions. To register, you need to select the ticket appropriate to the workshop you would like to attend:

Tuesday, April 21 - 3 pm to 5 pm ET - full

Thursday, April 23 - 7 pm to 9 pm ET - full

Monday, April 27 - 7 pm to 9 pm ET - tickets available

If you have any questions, or if you would like to schedule a specific workshop for your newsroom, please contact me at
