Event description
John Dunn shares stories, images and video from his 8,000 km series of expeditions between Tofino and the northernmost land in Canada

About this Event

Crossed Canada lately? John Dunn's quest was to find a wild route through the country from south to north. Over the course of 400 days and several expeditions he covered almost every kilometre from Tofino to the northern tip of Ellesmere Island. "Journey North" is the story of those expeditions, and a grand celebration of the great Canadian wilderness.

John Dunn has been exploring Canada's Arctic for 30 years and has racked up 12,500 km of sled-hauling during 25 expeditions. His journeys include a six month skiing, kayaking and hiking expedition along the length of Baffin Island. Images from that journey were published in National Geographic, and his Baffin Traverse presentation was part of the National Geographic Society’s Quest for Adventure lecture series. John is a Fellow of the Royal Canadian Geographical Society.

In 2020 John and Graeme Magor - a Comox local - will attempt to ski from Canada to Greenland across the hopefully frozen waters of Smith Sound.

Please visit John's website at arcticlight.com for more information about Journey North and his other expeditions.
