Join us for a night of Inclusion Training!
This year's Journey to Inclusion workshop will be run in two sessions with a wrap up panel at the end. Please choose the two sessions you wish to attend during your workshop.
Dinner is provided (Pizza, granola bars and juice boxes)
Please Note: changing workshops the night of the workshop will likely not be possible. Please be sure to select the sessions you are going to attend.
Introduction to Inclusion
This session is for our new camp staff who maybe haven't had a chance to work with children with special needs just yet. We will talk about some basic program modifications, how to handle challenging transitions and activities and a bit of information on different coping strategies.
Highly recommended for first time camp staff!
Creative Musical Programming
This workshop is designed to demonstrate neat ways to incorporate music and dramatics into your program.
Peer to Peer Mediation
This training will give you some tips and tricks to use peer mediation to help children get involved. We will go through some ways to use peers or are engaged a child that is struggling or not wanting to participate.
What is the most challenging part of most days at camp? TRANSITIONS! we spend our days going from one thing to the next, and often our campers may struggle with those changes. Learn some tools and tips to use during transitions and while planning your days at camp to help these campers be more successful all day long!
Using Augmentative, Alternative Communication (AAC) and Visuals
Help campers using a Speech Generating Device get the most out of their camp experience. Learn more about AAC in general and how to use the strategies and tools to help your campers make connections with peers and participate in camping activities. How can you set the situation up so that the camper has a social/verbal role in an activity? Come and find out!
