Juliet's Dresses: Narrative Threads in the Remnants of 'True Beauty' in the Stratford Festival Archives
Speaker: Ted Mcgee
Among the collections of the Stratford Festival Archive is one of the party dresses worn by Juliets. Taking those material remnants of past productions as its starting point, this talk tells the stories of Juliet's costumes and their significance in relation to other costumes, Romeo's vision of 'true beauty', Canadian culture and politics, and the Western beauty myth.
