Event description

Description

2017 marks the 25th anniversary of CSIF's Summer Media Arts Camp (SMAC). Many local, national, and international filmmakers held a camera for the first time at this camp and have gone on to have careers in the film industry.

SMAC introduces youth ages 12-14 to the filmmaking process. Participants will learn the basics of taking a movie from script to screen in intensive, hands-on, collaborative workshops. This excellent introduction to the art of film production will see participants write, direct, shoot, and edit a film.

Upon completion, their film will be premiered at a gala screening at the CSIF, where participants and the public are invited to attend.

SMAC for ages 12 -14 runs from 9am-5pm July 17-21 @ CSIF (#100, 1725-10 Ave. SW).

REFERRALS: CSIF members who successfully refer individuals to our Summer Media Arts Camps will receive $50 worth of CSIF Bucks/referral, which they can use towards equipment rentals!

For more info, please visit csif.org/camps, or email Production Director Nick Haywood at production@csif.org.
