The key to good writing is authenticity. And that authenticity either comes from lived experience or some really good research. In this workshop, journalist and poet Shirley Camia will offer insights into how to integrate research into writing. From finding credible sources to interviewing people, this workshop will look at ways of combining standard elements of journalism with literary artistry.
Shirley Camia is a broadcaster and journalist, born in Winnipeg to first-generation Filipino immigrants. She has traveled throughout the Americas, Europe and Asia, sleeping alongside the rice fields of rural Japan and falling in love with Canada's far north. She lives and writes in Toronto.
