Event description

Description

Create your own wearable art!!!! Have your own custom fabulous designs come to life on t-shirts, bags, banners, or other fabrics.

Learn how to create and print your own designs with the guidance of a silk screening expert, Kingi Carpenter. Silk screening is the process of transferring prints onto various fabrics and items. Create your own gear and contribute to a collective art creation all while learning new skills in the art of silk screening!

The 519’s Kids Action and Arts Space (KAAS)

is a free, drop-in program that offers kids who are 6 to 9 years old a fun place to connect, meet friends and new peers.

KAAS meets the first and third Saturday of each month, from 10:00 am – 12:00 pm.

The 519 is collaborating with community artists and educators to facilitate arts and movement-based activities for Two Spirit, Queer, Trans, and gender nonbinary kids, and the kids of queer and trans families.

Participants will explore activities like: storytelling, dance, theatre, and martial arts to name a few.

No experience is required

Collectively, we strive to create a safer, supportive and inspiring space where everyone – from facilitators to participants – can bring their full selves into the space, feel celebrated and continue to develop and strengthen their skills in self-expression.
