Event description

Description

Data has become an integral part of the work of community agencies. Data can inform the decisions we make. It can show us where and how to spend time and resources. It can bolster a grant application or provide valuable information to funders. However, finding and using local data can be frustrating. This session will focus on what data is available locally, where to find it, and how to use it successfully. This session will focus specifically on local data related to children, youth and their families. It will answer the questions:

  1. What local data is available for agencies to use?
  2. How can local data be accessed?
  3. What benefits can local data provide grant writers?
  4. What are some local examples of using data successfully?

You will also be given time to put this information into practice and to ask any pressing questions you have about data.

About the Facilitator: Auburn Larose is a Health Promotion Specialist at Wellington-Dufferin-Guelph Public Health. Her role is multi-faceted and includes chairing the WDG Report Card Coalition, leading the WDG Data Consortium, and supporting Growing Great Generations, the local child and youth planning table, as the Data Coordinator.
