In this week-long art camp, students will learn how to complete several drawings from start to finish. All steps in this drawing camp will be covered as campers create a new drawing from life every day.

Learning to draw correctly is the foundation of all good art and this camp will focus on the importance of technique and proportions. Student will start by doing practice drawings 3- Dimensional shapes, move onto fruit, flowers and end the week of doing a self-portrait drawing.

For the self-portrait drawing students will learn how to draw all facial features including the nose, eyes, mouth and ears.

(Students will get a 30 min break so please pack a snack. If they are staying for the whole day please pack a lunch.)


Art Instructor Bio - Kelly Covert

Kelly is an artist/art educator living and working in Calgary. Kelly began teaching privately in 2009 and has been running weekly classes, workshops, demos and summer camps every year since.She graduated with a Bachelors in Fine Arts from the Alberta College of Art + Design, majoring in Painting. As well she has just completed her Bachelors of Education Degree at the University of Calgary in the spring of 2013.

As soon as Kelly could hold a pencil she was hooked on all things art. She attributes some of her artistic skill to the fact that she took private art classes for the majority of her childhood and these classes provided her with the foundation to become the artist she is today.
