Description
Why learn about micro:bit?
Micro:bit is a microcontroller - a mini computer that we can program!
Any of the micro:bit inputs - including buttons, a temperature sensor, motion sensors, and more! - can create a range of interesting outputs, like flashing a secret message using LEDs. This means that we can use micro:bits to prototype new inventions and put our creativity to the test!
During this workshop, learners will work together to brainstorm ideas, then build and test their projects. We’ll use the MakeCode editor to give our micro:bits instructions using code, including transitioning from block-based coding to programming with JavaScript! This is a great next step for learners familiar with block-based tools like Scratch who are interested in learning something new.
