About this event

Welcome to the World’s Greatest NHL’94 Tournament!

Register now for Sega Genesis or Super Nintendo for your chance to win cash prizes, and the title of King of ‘94!

This year will be the first year we join with the NHL95 community, who will also host their own tournaments on the same day! It will be a MECCA of retro hockey video gaming!

Plus we've added some more sports video game tournaments the night before!

The event is hosted at Waves Gaming eSports hub in Vaughan. There is no age restriction. Food and drinks (and beer) will be available for purchase.

Please read below for additional details about registering and attending, and check out the detailed tournament rules on our website:

Yes. However, if you are playing both Sega '94 and SNES '94, you MUST also be available to play round-robin games Friday, October 14th as well.

What is the tournament format?

It's a round-robin followed by a double-elimination tournament bracket. You are guaranteed at least 8 games. For more info, see the link below.

What are the rules?

Any other questions that are not answered in our FAQ can be sent to:

Many attendees like to socialize and play games at the hotel before/after the official event. We don't have a group rate (won't make that mistake next year), but many attendees are staying at "Monte Carlo Inn - Vaughan Suites" (705 Applewood Crescent) or a few at the cheaper but farther "Quality Inn Toronto Airport" (6355 Airport Rd).

Go see a Maple Leafs game?

The Toronto Maple Leafs have three home games within a couple of days of the tournament. Thurs, Oct. 13th vs Washington Capitals, Saturday, Oct.15th vs Ottawa Senators, and Monday, Oct.17th vs Arizona Coyotes. Note: It's possible that the King of 94 bracket may run late when we get down to the last three or four players, so if you get tickets for the Oct.15th game you may end up being late for the game.

How can I contact you?

We'd love to hear from you.
