This Workshop is put on by DADE "Dungeon After Dark Edmonton"!
You've been thinking naughty thoughts, haven't you? Maybe you've had them for a while, maybe something has recently piqued your curiosity... Regardless, you've decided to dip your toes in the water. This class looks at the world of BDSM and kink. Ranging from vocabulary, to roles, and types of play, this will be a broad overview and introduction. What do you need to know about safety, consent, and negotiations? How do you behave in a dungeon? Where do you learn more? And where do you buy these things or go to do them?
This class is a part of the requirements for full membership to DADE. Kink 101 will be offered frequently and not always on the same day.
Here’s our reasoning;
Everyone who walks into our dungeon will have the same baseline of knowledge on etiquette, safety, and negotiation. Everyone. No one is being grandfathered in for membership or its requirements. As a member, you will know that everyone has been part of the same discussion regardless of their having been in the community for five days or 25 years.
One of the reasons people don’t come forward about consent violations is because they don’t know what to do or how to handle it. The other common complaint is that the person they are concerned about is a long standing member of the community. We want to create an atmosphere of safety within our world of passionate frivolities. Everyone is on a level playing field.
We’ve heard from new people about their uncertainty about how to behave in a dungeon. One of the aims of this class is to alleviate that. It also gives people with a wide variety of experience levels a chance to meet outside of a munch.
