Event description

Description

Entrelac Knitting: Super cool look and easy to do.

Entrelac is a combination of stitch squares (commonly stockinette stitch but can use others) that give the appearance of basketweave based on how the fabric curls. Using 2 colors or variegated yarn will create a stunning fabric that looks much more complex than it is.

Techniques you will learn include:

  • Increases and decreases
  • Pick up and knit (purl)
  • Short rows
  • And for the adventurous knitter, how to knit and purl backwards
  • Using 1 or 2 colors entrelac flat and in the round

Homework: none

Supplies Needed: Two contrasting colors of worsted weight yarn

Circular needles for the worsted weight yarn chosen (check the ball band of the yarn)

Locking stitch marker

Must be able to knit and purl comfortable and know the long tail cast on.
