Event description

Description

1. Stop knitting sweaters that don’t fit. (Also known as gage/blocking and getting the perfect fit) Some knitters would rather knit a whole sweater and have to give it away because it doesn’t fit rather than do gauge swatches. However a knitter knits because they LOVE to knit. Margo teaches how swatching is just as fun as any other knitting and understand how blocking and gauge play into a pattern will get you the results you want.

Techniques you will learn include:

· Understanding how gauge is unique to every knitter

· What ease is and how that plays into your finished sweater

· Different ways to block and the role it plays

Homework: knit a six inch square using worsted weight yarn and the appropriate needle size. Make a note of the number of cast on stitches and the number of rows in the swatch.

Supplies Needed: paper, pencil and calculator
