Description

Knitting: Hats 101 (Intermediate Level)
Date: May 8 - May 15, 2018 (Tuesdays, 2 weeks)
Time: 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm
Instructor: Tamsin Sloots
Fee: $30 plus HST (Members) | Fee: $35 plus HST (Non Members)

Take your knitting to the next level by learning to knit in the round. In this two week class, you will learn how to cast on and knit in the round using double pointed needles and how to use knitted decreases to shape the crown of your hat.

Because this is a intermediate class, participants must know both the knit and purl stitches and be fairly confident using them, before they register for this class

Tamsin Sloots is a maker of prints and textile objects originally hailing from Hamilton, Ontario. She has a diploma in textiles from Sheridan College in Oakville, Ontario and a BFA Interdisciplinary from NSCAD University in Textiles and Printmaking. Tamsin is currently working out of the Cape Breton Centre for Craft & Design as an artist in residence for 2017-2018 where you can likely find her quilting up a storm or elbow deep in a vat of indigo. She thoroughly enjoys spreading her love of craft to people and experiencing the community and practicality found through making and creating. You can learn more about her by visiting her website: tamsinjohanna.com
